Solid Ground Shelters is a full-service VIP mobile lodging and hospitality provider. We pride ourselves on the quality and ease of deployment of all our accommodations. SGS creates immersive experiences for patrons or attendees of any event or occasion. We take our clients visions and turn them into a bespoke event through completely customized accommodations. Additionally, when requested, we provide experienced teams of hospitality crews to add VIP services to our luxury accommodations. Ultimately, our goal is to create comfortable homes away from home for whomever needs them!


Job Description


The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of each event, from assisting in organization of transportation and other logistical aspects to client relations. It is the ultimate responsibility of the project manager to ensure a smoothly operating event. A large amount of personal discretion will be allowed to this position, depending largely upon the individual’s ability to assess issues and apply solutions that fit within the broader set of company standards. This is a summer seasonal role with possibility for future full-time opportunities based on performance. Applicants do not have to be based in Charlottesville to be considered, but location on the east coast is preferred.


Responsibilities:


  • Execute and manage programs consisting of 50 - 1,500 units

  • Manage receiving end of equipment shipments

  • Operate and/or supervise heavy equipment (rough terrain forklifts)

  • Perform site visits and assist in mapping out layouts of temporary accommodations and communal facilities

  • Ensure operation lies within local and national ordinance codes (fire lanes, etc)

  • Maintain our standards of excellence in regards to clients, staff, and patrons

  • Plan, carry out, and supervise hospitality programs tailored to each event

  • Manage budgets set for each event

  • Assist with hiring and training of new staff and contract labor

  • Coordinate vendor offerings and payments

  • Maintain and report changes in inventory to warehouse manager

  • Provide accurate and timely expense reports for each event


Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience within the music festival/event industry (management experience required)

  • 4 year degree in related field preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability and desire to travel extensively for events
